This month’s edition has everything from a cool gallery app to a nifty battery app. And, they will help you get the most out of your phones. So, without further delay, let’s get started.
1. 1Gallery
If you are not happy with the stock Gallery app on your phone, you can check out the 1Gallery app. It comes with a slew of nifty features. For instance, you can hide some of your photos and videos inside the encrypted folder called Secure Folder. Secondly, there’s a cool ‘Find Large Files’ feature, which (you guessed it right) lets you see all the files with a big memory footprint. So, if you have a phone with low internal memory, you can easily find the massive space-hoarding files. And it’s a smooth ride after that. So take a backup of those files and then delete the photos from your phone’s memory. 1Gallery is a clean and clutter-free app — the interface is refreshing. You can choose to see only videos or photos via the option at the top. Plus, there’s the option to mark some files as important. After that, tap on the Star icon at the top to access them. Cool, right? Download 1Gallery
2. Lockdown Lite
Today, most phones come with a built-in feature to individually lock apps. However, if your phone doesn’t have that, you can try the Lockdown Lite app. This is a simple and lightweight app that locks down a few specific phones with a PIN, password, or fingerprint. Setting up this app is as easy as pie. You need to choose the apps which you need to lockdown, pick the type of lock, and that’s it. The good thing about LockDown is that it uses very few Android permissions. Download Lockdown Lite
3. Transno
Are you looking for intuitive note-taking apps for your Android phone? Say hello to Transno. Transmo lets you experiment with multiple types of notes, whether it’s a simple list, a nested list, or a beautiful mind map. All the features and settings are right there in the app — pick the right one and get going. The app’s interface feels fluid. Once you start using using it, there’s no going back. Creating a sub-list is one of the best features that I loved. Tap on the Indent button, add your entry and that’s it. Transno has several templates for you if you do not want to dirty your hands with designing your note. Tap on one to select it and add it to your notes. After that, you’re good to go. 4. BatteryGuru
Every rechargeable battery has a specific life cycle. And we all know that careless charging like trickle charging or overcharging harms the battery in the long run. And apps like BatteryGuru focus on ways to prolonging the life of the battery by monitoring its health. It has a set of reminders and alarms that notifies you when the battery reaches a certain level when charging. And the same goes for discharging as well. Plus, you can also see the usage pattern if the native battery app of your phone doesn’t allow it. And you can further optimize the battery, or see its temperature, among other things. If you are concerned about your phone’s battery life, this is a must-have app. Download BatteryGuru
5. AutoResponder for Instagram
If you receive a ton of Instagram messages every day that it becomes a chore to manage them. If yes, you might want to try AutoResponder for Instagram. As you may have already guessed, it sends an automatic reply to any incoming messages. Cool, right? And the story doesn’t just end there. You can customize the incoming messages and the outgoing messages and specify the timing when you want the app to work. And it even works even when you have multiple accounts on your Instagram. The good thing is that AutoResponder doesn’t access your DMs. Instead, it reads the message from the notification panel. And so that you do not lose track of the outgoing messages, AutoResponder notifies you each time it sends a reply. It’s easy to use, although at first glance the rules may seem a bit complicated. All you have to do is define all the rules, and that’s about it. Download AutoResponder for Instagram
6. Guitar Tuner Pro
This app is for the musicians as well as the enthusiasts. It comes in handy for tuning the guitar — whether it is yours or belongs to someone else. It uses the phone’s microphone to help you tune your guitar, and as per many reviewers, it does a rather great job. The interface is clutter-free and straightforward. You need to select the cord, and play it and the app will guide you through the rest. Apart from that, there are other features as well. For one, there’s a huge library of cords. And if we were to go by the dev’s claims, it has around 2640 chords. Download Guitar Tuner Pro
7. Lock Me Out
In this day of interesting web shows and cool social media apps, it takes a lot of effort to stay away from the phone. Many times, I have found myself mindlessly scrolling through my Instagram feed or watching YouTube videos in the middle of the day. Though the Digital Wellbeing module helps you see the amount of time you spend on your phone, in some cases, it’s not enough. That’s when Lock Me Out should be useful. As suggestive of its name, it locks you out from your phone if you exceed the number of unlocks, or your screen on time exceeds the specified limit. Cool, right? All the time limit or the app names can be specified when you set up the app. In short, most of the options are customizable. After all, your phone shouldn’t lock you out of your email app. The interface seems a bit clunky and confusing. Thankfully, once you figure out the flow, configuring it isn’t a hassle. Go, Get Them All!
Over the last few years, the Android system has evolved tremendously so much so that most of the features and tweaks we usually seek are included as built-in functions. Take the case of screen recorders, screenshot editors, or the built-in photo editing suite as examples. Nevertheless, third-party apps help add the extra zing that is otherwise missing. So, which one of these will you get? Next up: Missed last month’s edition of our Apps of the Month post? Worry not, click on the link below.
